Quilt show, bazaar scheduled for Saturday

CONCORD – Epworth Women United in Faith United Methodist Church is sponsoring a quilt show and bazaar on Saturday, October 22 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Epworth UMC, 1030 Burrage Road, Concord. There is no cost to attend this event.

Beautiful reconstructed quilts with their historical data will be displayed throughout the church building and handicrafts and bazaar items will be sold in the church’s stock room. Baked goods and One More Time Around items will be offered for sale in the Widenhouse building behind the main church building.

Anyone who donates to the Epworth United Women in Faith will have their name inscribed in a design for a Jacob’s Ladder queen size quilt made by Epworth’s Fellowship and Fabric group. The draw will take place at the end of the show. Guests can also bid on silent auction items.

Proceeds from this event benefit local charities including Cabarrus Meals on Wheels, Salvation Army, Concord Bible Teachers Association and Cabarrus Women’s Center. Proceeds also support local, district and international United Women in Faith missions serving women and children.

Benefits program arrives at Epworth

EUMC Music in Mission presents “John Denver, A Life Remembered,” Saturday, October 22 at 7 p.m. at Epworth UMC, 1030 Burrage Road NE, Concord.

Guest artists are Rod Almond & Aspenglow. Proceeds benefit cooperative Christian ministry.

Braunschweig BBQ Stew

The Cold Springs United Methodist Church will hold its 69th annual Brunswick BBQ and Stew on Saturday, October 22. Service begins at 9 a.m. Plates, sandwiches and bulk items will be available. Fundraising for youth group plans

Harrisburg Baptist Church Youth Group will be hosting their annual BBQ fundraiser on Saturday, November 5 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Get 1 pound OR three sandwiches for $10. Homemade pastries will also be available for purchase for $1.50 each. Eat in or take away. Come support the youth group!
